Our new initiative: JOL Media

Welcome to JOL Media! 

With this initiative, we bring you thoughtful reflections and analysis on what’s happening and what will happen in the media and communications industries.

Because so many aspects of media and communications are evolving so quickly and the dividing lines between them are becoming ever blurrier, we’ll talk about a variety of topics from print media to PR and social networks to advertising agencies.

What makes us different from the multitude of media critics out there? Honestly, not too much for now. But as we grow, our plan is to add different perspectives from around the world, to learn from those media commentaries to which we in the Western world may not otherwise have access. To reach that point, we will be soliciting contributions from media experts everywhere. Until we reach that point, we hope that you enjoy another viewpoint.  

Your current host is admittedly a bit rusty. I used to run a media blog in the past but it’s been six or seven years since the last article I’ve written. In the meantime I’ve been mostly writing business plans and keynote presentations – not exactly intelligent commentary, however useful. So, I welcome your comments and hope that some good debates will arise from these articles.
